Marks In An Age of Change/Arts Blog

Stillwater Artist Paul Randall brings a St. Croix Valley Arts Blog to Stillwater Patch - Marks in an age of change/connecting the peoples of the world with art.

Welcome to my arts blog,

My name is Paul Randall and I am a resident of my beloved St. Croix River Valley. My home and studio are located in Stillwater, where I own and operate The Pottery@RaccoonHighway. The art work I make is in ceramics and photography, utilitarian and sculptural ceramics and my photography ranges from Wedding Photography and Product Photography to Nature and Photographs of the Creation.

The mission of my work is "To bring the peoples and communities of the world together through art." Here I will share with you the results of workshops and art activities that I participate in,  the techniques and processes that are used in making my art and those of other artists. I will also profile for you individual artists locally and from around the world.

I will try to post a photograph of the day, of my work, or of your work or of another artist from another place on this planet. If you would like me to post a photograph of yours, please email me at paul@plrandall.com. Today's photograph is the view from the terrace at my home overlooking the St. Croix River Valley. To me, my beloved valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth and I photograph it often. Like the Grand Canyon, the light here is constantly changing and it is truely an inspiring place to live.

Recently I made a journey to Serbia in eastern Europe. There, I met several artists and learned a great deal about this country, it's people and rich history. Watch my blog in the coming days and weeks to learn more about this beautiful country, rich with "Slavic Soul,." I will profile several artists whom I met there and tell you about this journey.

Thank you for joining me, and I look forward to bringing to you art from the valley and from around the world.
