Paintings with "Slavic Soul" Make Their Way to America

Serbian Artist Dragana Knezevic paintings on display in Marine on St. Croix this weekend.

In October of 2010 I made a new Serbian friend on Facebook, her name is Dragana Knezevic (pronounced Kna - shi - vesh.) Dragana has been active in the arts for many years, holding journalist and director positions in Serbian radio and television and has served as Director of her hometown Culture Center in Negotin, Serbia. She began to paint with oils on her own and is a self taught artist with a "Slavic Soul." Dragana also makes beautiful ceramic works which she uses in her home for everyday use.

I returned from my travels to her country with several of her recent works. A portfollio of her paintings will be on display this weekend in Marine on St. Croix. Join me at the Art Fair in my booth "The Pottery@Raccoon Highway" to see these works. Some of the paintings were made this summer while in Montenegro at the Adriatic sea. These paintings reflect her love of the sea and you will see the joy and connection she feels with the oceans. Their are also four works from a series she has entitled "Londra" and other earlier paintings including her "Clowns" which should not be missed.

All are welcome to join me at The Marine Art Fair, to enjoy these original works by a true "Slavic Soul."
