Sticks and Stones...
Behind the Scenes of Summer Tuesdays, Inc. as told by Legacy Team Member Erin Bachmann.

...make break my bones, but words are even stronger. And that's what I want to talk about – what people are saying at the event Summer Tuesdays. What's nice about being an event planner is that most people don't know me, as I'm behind the scenes, which makes for great eavesdropping opportunities. I couldn't have been a happier fly-on-the-wall this past week.
As I was walking the crowd, snapping photos and grabbing trash, I heard a woman's voice saying, “Every community absolutely needs this.”
My inner monologue was bursting with pride. And then I looked to see who had made this comment and I saw a woman in her 60's having this discussion with a man in his 30's, who followed this comment with, “What I love is that it is a place for teens to go. It feels safe and its a free activity for them.”

The remainder of their conversation was mild pleasantries about the event and the market, and I ran to tell a fellow Summer Tuesdays, Inc. Legacy Team Member the great news. But what I was greeted with was even better, as she told me of the four different people who had approached her to say what a great pick of movies we had this year. All were family-friendly, but they weren't all mainly for kids, making it community-friendly, so it could be a place where adults could enjoy themselves too.
If it seems like I'm bragging, perhaps I am, but after the disappointment of last week, this was the boost we needed. And I'm not saying that anyone carried me and the other Legacy Team Members out on their shoulders like Rudy (next week's movie plug), but when “Secretariat” won the Triple Crown in the movie and the crowd in Lowell Park cheered, I cheered too...but for a few more reasons.
