Burning Restrictions Continue in Stillwater
The Stillwater Fire Department has responded to three grass fires in the last week. Two of those three grass fires were the result of open burning.

A high fire danger rating from the Minnesota DNR and burning restrictions continue today for Washington County.
The has responded to three grass fires in the last week, according to fire department officials. Two of those three grass fires were the result of open burning.
The three grass fires were were reported in the 1000 block of Manning; the 9000 block of Norrell; and the 800 block of south Greeley.

The DNR describes a high fire rating as:
Fires start easily and spread at a fast rate. All fine dead fuels ignite readily and fires start easily from most causes. Unattended campfires are likely to escape. Fires spread rapidly and short-distance spotting is common. High-intensity burning may develop on slopes, or in concentrations of fine fuel. Fire may become serious and difficult to control unless they are hit hard and fast while small.
