Business Brief: Alfresco Casual Living Teams with Our Community Kitchen

Alfresco Casual Living has teamed up with Our Community Kitchen to launch healthy eating demos with Stonewall Kitchen products.

Join chef Kristin Klemetsrud and “foodie friend” volunteers from each Saturday in September at in downtown Stillwater to sample “speed scratch” dishes using gourmet sauces, preserves, salsas and chutneys from Stonewall Kitchen.

 will show attendees how to personalize the sauces, salsas and chutneys by adding fresh local produce to the gourmet line of products launching at Alfresco Casual Living.

Each Saturday in September, beginning Sept. 8, the public is welcome to sample a trio of easy-to-prepare dishes and learn more about the donation-based breakfast served at .

Alfresco owner Meg Brownson, an avid supporter of Our Community Kitchen since its inception in June 2011, has worked to introduce the concept to the community.

Our Community Kitchen serves a twice weekly donation-based healthy breakfast, teaches local high school students basic kitchen and cooking skills, and offers farm & field experiences during the local harvest season.

“This is a great way to team up with a new community organization, introduce this “new-to-Alfresco” food product line and offer a fun experience for customers,”  Chef Kristin Klemetsrud said in a news release. "I look forward to seeing familiar faces and introducing Our Community Kitchen and the delicious Stonewall Kitchen products to residents and visitors alike.”

Samples will be offered each Saturday from 1-3 p.m. featuring different themes each week that include Easy Appetizers, Back-to-School Breakfasts and Comfort Food Revisited. Recipes will be available.
