City Denies Stillwater Log Run Special Permit; Race Will Finish Outside Stillwater

Citing public safety concerns, city officials denied the Saturday, Sept. 17 race a special permit.

According to the Stillwater Gazette, the the finish line has been relocated to St. Croix Boom Site park, outside city limits.

The City Council denied the run a permit due to concerns over rising river levels. Officials also noted that organizers of the run failed to provide an emergency plan to the city.

The race headquarters will remain at Stillwater's Water Street Inn.

A shuttle will take runners to the starting lines for the 10-mile and 5K races.

More than 600 participants have registered for the race.
