Victorian Christmas Preview Gala

The holidays are fast approaching and there is no better way to start the season than attending the Victorian Christmas at the Historic Courthouse Preview Gala 6:30 – 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.

The beautifully-decorated site, high on the bluff overlooking the St. Croix River, glows with light as guests approach the elegant building. Guests will enjoy champagne, appetizers and desserts donated by the Lake Elmo Inn, Mama Maria’s Ristorante, River Valley Catering, Brine’s Market, Green Mill Catering and Kane’s Catering. Lift Bridge Brewery will also host beer-tasting featuring hand-crafted beers from Stillwater.

Guests may begin their holiday shopping while strolling through the vendor booths featuring high-quality arts and crafts for sale. Costumed volunteers and vendors add to the festive Victorian atmosphere. Door prizes donated by George Siegfried Construction, Oertel Architects, Steve Schultz-Lee F. Murphy Insurance Group and Rose Floral will be awarded during the Friday evening event. A quilt, made by the courthouse quilting group, will be raffled during the event. 

The Preview Event is a restoration and operations fundraiser for the Washington County Historic Courthouse. In addition to the food, beverage and door prize sponsors, this event is made possible by donations from the Courthouse Quilters and Action Rental. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Historic Courthouse, 101 W. Pine St., Stillwater, MN 55082 by mail, or by telephone. The public is invited to attend and advance tickets are recommended.

The Victorian Christmas event continues 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Santa will be visiting Saturday and Sunday afternoons, a Tea Room is available and an exhibit featuring a German Holiday celebration will be open for viewing.
