Feast Italian Style at Luna Rossa Trattoria and Wine Bar

Look no farther than downtown Stillwater for a taste of Italy.

What should you do if someone claims they hate Italian food? Act quickly of course, and perform an Italian-cuisine intervention.

First, wrestle them to the floor and pour copious amounts of tomato sauce down their throat just to make sure they’re never going to utter those blasphemous words again. Then finish them off with mounds of creamy, coffee-infused, cocoa-dusted tiramisu and crisp cannolis filled with sweetened ricotta studded with chocolate chips and pistachios.

Or, you can do it the easy way and rush them to Luna Rossa Trattoria and Wine Bar in downtown Stillwater and stuff them with some of the tastiest Italian food around until they come to their senses.

“We want our customers to know that they may come in as strangers but they leave as friends," Virgillo says. "We’d like to reach out to the locals and hope they try us out.”

Luna Rosa has music on Saturday nights and offers happy hour Sundays thru Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. in the bar area with half-off of select appetizers.

During the off-season on Monday nights there’s half-price featured wine, and in the midst of the summer months. there’s a sidewalk patio perfect for enjoying pasta and people watching.

If you’re looking for a unique and beautiful space for your special occasion, check out Luna Rossa’s two banquet rooms built into the limestone caves.

The two rooms can accommodate 35 or 45 people or combined can accommodate 80 people. You can also reserve the private wine cavern for hosted wine tastings.

Be sure not to miss the cave tours, a walking tour that lasts 30 minutes and can be arranged with your dining reservation. You’ll learn about the historical details of the Wolf Brewery and the story behind the limestone caves during the late 1800s.
