Now I know for a fact that there are a lot of cyclists in Stillwater. Heck, I probably see more spandex on people than regular clothing; but I digress. For this final Summer Tuesday we are pretty pumped! (No tire pun intended).
We will start things off with a local artist, Clay McLemore on guitar, followed by Galactic Cowboy Orchestra. Listen to their awesomeness here: http://www.newfolkbooking.com/GCO.php
Then we will be showing....(drumroll)....E.T.! And because in the movie, to get E.T. to his spaceship, all the kids ride their bikes into the moonlight, we are also asking everyone to ride their bike to the event.
Chilkoot Cafe and Cyclery will be on hand for a few fantastic reasons:
- They will check out your bike FOR FREE and fix any minor issues it may have, or if it is bigger issues, give you a diagnosis. Again, For FREE.
- They will be there promoting "Spikes for Bikes." This is an initiative that started with members of the bike club getting together and pulling up all the old railroad spikes from the 1800s in preparation for the new bike trail. Now people can give a $5 donation and get a historic spike with explanation of it and a coupon to use at Chilkoot Cafe. All the proceeds will go towards getting bikes for unprivileged kids.
- Because they are cool.
