Firefighters Extinguish Garage Fire on North Owens Street
The Stillwater Fire Department quickly responded and extinguished a garage fire Thursday night in the 900 block of North Owens Street. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Stillwater Fire Department extinguished a garage fire Thursday night attached to a home in the 900 block of North Owens Street.
Firefighters were called at 9:41 p.m. to a report of a structure fire with visible smoke and flames, Stillwater Fire Chief Stu Glaser said. Dispatch advised firefighters that the house had been evacuated.
The first Stillwater engine arrived on scene in three minutes and confirmed it was a working structure fire originating in a two-car attached garage, Glaser said. The fire was knocked down and kept from spreading into the living area of the home.

The fire was under control by 9:54 p.m. Firefighters cleared the scene by 10:41 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, Glaser said. The blaze caused about $5,000 in damages.
