Football Friday: Stillwater at Forest Lake

LAST WEEK

Stillwater (2-1, 2-1 Suburban East) suffered its first loss of the season, 34-7 to Cretin-Derham Hall; Forest Lake lost its second straight, 35-26 to White Bear Lake.

PLAYMAKERS

-Nate Ricci (Stillwater, quarterback)

Ricci completed just 4-of-19 pass attempts, but ran for a team-high 78 yards against Cretin-Derham Hall.

-Joshua Weess (Stillwater, wide receiver)

Weess was on the receiving end of all four of Ricci's completions, for 79 yards.

-Tommy Tyson (Forest Lake, running back)

Tyson ran for 68 yards and a score against White Bear Lake.

-Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, linebacker)

Egelkraut had 11 tackles and a sack last Friday night.

PONIES WIN IF …

They can bounce back from their loss to Cretin-Derham Hall. The Ponies and Raiders met last Friday with sole possession of first place on the line, and Cretin rolled to a big win. Forest Lake is a dangerous team that has shown it can put points on the board, so the Ponies better be ready.

RANGERS WIN IF …

Forest Lake scored 53 in its only other home game this season, and it's going to take another big offensive night for them to have a chance to pull off an upset.
