Six-Year-Old Girl Who Died In Beach Incident Identified

A 6-year-old girl is dead following an incident at a swimming beach in Lake Elmo, Washington County Sunday.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — The child that was transported on June 4 from the Lake Elmo Park Reserve swim pond to Regions Hospital where she later died has been identified by the Washington County Sheriff's Office as Ghia Vue, a six-year-old from Saint Paul. This incident will be under investigation until autopsy results are received.


A 6-year-old girl is dead following an incident at a Washington County beach Sunday. On June 4 at 1:17 p.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Washington County Park Reserve swimming beach in Lake Elmo on the report of a 6-year-old female who had been pulled from the water and was not breathing.

Resuscitation efforts were performed on the victim. The victim was transported to Regions Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Names will not be released at this time, according to a news release.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Lake Elmo Rescue, Lakeview Ambulance, the Woodbury Police Department and Lake Elmo Reserve staff. This case is currently under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Washington County Parks Department.
