Hugo Woman Found Dead in Iowa after Police Conduct Welfare Check
Stillwater police were called to the parking lot of the Water Street Inn to conduct a welfare check on a woman who was passed out in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The woman was taken to the hospital and released. She was later found dead in Iowa.

A Hugo woman died last weekend from an apparent mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs.
Stillwater police were called at about 3 a.m. March 4 to the parking lot of the to conduct a welfare check on a woman who was passed out in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
When police arrived, they noticed the windows of the woman’s vehicle were rolled down and the woman was unresponsive, the police report states. The temperature was about 20 degrees outside, which concerned first responders about possible exposure to the weather.

When the woman was awoken by police, her speech was incoherent and she was unable to maintain her balance, the report states. The woman reportedly told police that she had taken several medications. Her blood-alcohol content was .078.
According to the report, police found multiple prescription pill bottles in her purse, one of which was an empty bottle of Oxycodone.

The woman was then transported to Lakeview Hospital for evaluation of drug and alcohol use.
After the woman was released from the hospital, her mother reportedly called Stillwater police to conduct a welfare check.
Police eventually located the woman in Iowa, where she was reportedly found dead in the passenger seat of her vehicle with her windows rolled down and a bottle of alcohol in her hand.
