Hy-Vee Looks To Build In Stillwater Township

STILLWATER, MN — As it continues to expand across the Twin Cities metro, supermarket giant Hy-Vee is looking to build a store in Stillwater township. The Iowa-based chain has its eyes on a 30-acre site on the corner of Minnesota 36 and Manning Avenue. However, the site would have to be annexed by Oak Park Heights before it could be developed, the Pioneer Press reported.

“We have had a clear understanding from day one that the interest of the property owners is for commercial development and that would require annexation of the property to either Oak Park Heights or the city of Stillwater … in order to get sewer and water,” Stillwater Township board chairman David Johnson said, according to the newspaper.

Officials in Stillwater Township will not object to the land being annexed.
