Lacrosse Teams Split Regular-Season Finales

Stillwater boys, girls lacrosse squads now await seedings, matchups for Section 4 playoffs.

Girls Lacrosse: Stillwater 16, Centennial 9 

A 16-9 defeat of visiting Centennial on Wednesday night in the regular-season finale gave the Stillwater girls lacrosse team an 11-2 record to take into the playoffs.

Hannah Dickman led the Ponies offense with 86 points this season, with Sammi Reiter logging 65 points.

Stillwater now prepares for the Section 4 Tournament, scheduled to begin on May 23, with a seed and an opening-round opponent not yet determined.

Boys Lacrosse: Mahtomedi 7, Stillwater 6

The Stillwater boys lacrosse team closed its regular season with back-to-back 7-6 losses, the last coming at home against Mahtomedi on Wednesday night, to drop the Ponies to 7-5 overall and 4-2 in the Suburban East.

Stillwater finished in a second-place tie with White Bear Lake and Woodbury in the conference standings, with Samuel Mathieu's 49 points leading the team offensively this spring.

Next up for the Ponies is the Section 4 Tournament, with seedings and initial matchups yet to be determined. The tourney is scheduled to begin on May 24.

Boys Tennis: Stillwater 6, Roseville 1

The Stillwater boys tennis team won its Section 4AA Tournament opener on Thursday. Individual statistics were not available. 

The fifth-seeded Ponies are now slated to take on No. 1 seed Mahtomedi at 3:30 p.m. Monday at White Bear High School. 

Boys Golf: Stillwater Sixth At Highland National

A score of 310 earned the Stillwater boys golf team a sixth-place finish in a Suburban East Conference meet at Highland National Golf Course on Thursday.
