Man Found Dead In SUV At Newport Transit Center Parking Lot
The Washington County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation Monday after a man's body was found inside an SUV.

NEWPORT, MN — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation after a man's body was found in the parking lot of the Newport Transit Center.
Just before 11:00 a.m., deputies received a report of an "unknown medical situation" at the transit center.
At the scene, deputies found a deceased man slumped over the driver’s seat of an SUV.

"The man’s death is being investigated as a homicide, however there is nothing at this time that indicates this was a random incident," the sheriff's office said in a news release.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the on-scene investigation. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the man's identity and cause of death.
