A 39-year-old Maplewood motorcyclist is in critical condition on Tuesday night after a minivan reportedly pulled out in front of the rider, sending him over his handle bars.

Kevin Laurence Krinke was transported to Regions Hospital Saturday. As of Tuesday night, he was in the Intensive Care Unit.

A Facebook page has been set up to update Krinke's friends of his condition.Β The Pro-Kevin page is also seeking help to gather things such as meals and household items for his son.

The crash occured just before noon near the intersection of Third and Olive streets, Sgt. Chris Felsch said. Two motorcyclists were traveling northbound on Third Street when a vehicle pulled out in front of the riders.

Krinke locked up his brakes and flew over the handle bars, Felsch said. Instead of hitting the pavement, he struck the vehicle.

Krinke was transported to Regions with non life-threatening injuries, Felsch said. He wasΒ conscious and breathing at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the minivan, Theresa Maureen DeWolf, 25, of Forest Lake, told police she didn't see the motorcyclists as she pulled onto Third Street due to vehicles parked up and down the road that obstructed her view.

Krinke told police he was traveling at about 25 mph when the minivan pulled out in front of him. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

DeWolf was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

The crash came one day after authorities with the Minnesota Department of Public SafetyΒ .
