MTS Minnesota Connections Academy Celebrates College Knowledge Month

October is College Knowledge Month. To celebrate, staff at MTS Minnesota Connections Academy created College Wear Wednesdays, where faculty don their alma mater gear throughout the month. In support of the statewide initiative, the Counseling Services Department is also offering college counseling lessons throughout the month, informing students and parents about free applications for the month, all while promoting college and the application process. The department continues to provide field trips to colleges around the state this month, as it does throughout the year. A cube decorating contest for staff related to their alma mater will conclude the celebration. Students will vote on their favorite at the end of the month.

The goal of College Knowledge Month is to provide every graduating high school senior with the preparation, opportunity, and support needed to apply to college. MTS Minnesota Connections Academy faculty, which includes state-certified teachers, school guidance counselors, special education professionals, and administrative staff serve more than 1,700 K-12 online public school students across the state. www.connectionsacademy.com
