Over $21K Raised For Teen Track Star Injured In Serious Wreck
Friends and family are coming together to support Jesseca Overland, a Forest Lake grad, as she continues on the long road of recovery.

FOREST LAKE, MN — Friends and family are coming together to support their loved one after she was involved in a serious car crash earlier this month. Jesseca Overland, 18, was pulling into the driveway of her Columbus, Minnesota home when she was t-boned by another vehicle on Aug. 1.
In just 17 days, more than $21,000 has been raised to support her recovery via GoFundMe.
Overland, a graduate for Forest Lake High School, was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital after the crash. She suffered 12 broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and her pelvis was fractured in three places.

Both lungs collapsed, and Overland suffered injuries to her spleen and liver. She was set to run cross country and track as a freshman this year at St. Cloud State University.
In addition to GoFundMe, on Monday night, a benefit dinner was hosted at the Forest Lake Famous Dave's where both Overland and her sister, Miranda, have previously worked.

"What an evening!" Miranda wrote on her sister's CaringBridge page. "Thank you to everyone who came out to support Jesseca and our family. Getting to see you all and thank you in person mean’s the world to us."
The Minnesota State High School League said on Facebook that the "horrific life-changing" crash hit the Forest Lake community hard and its "hurting as well as trying to stay strong for Jesseca."
