Ponies Boys Track And Field Team Wins Edina Invite
Stillwater runs away with competition, scoring 37 more points than runner-up Eden Prairie on Friday.
The Stillwater boys track and field team recorded 193 points to run away with the championship of the Edina Invitational on Friday.
Scoring 37 more points than runner-up Eden Prairie and 81 more points than the host Hornets, the Ponies seized control of the meet early on and never let go by winning nine of 19 events and placing several competitors in the top three of their respective contests throughout the day.
The Stillwater 800-, 4x400- and 4x800-meter relay teams all claimed race victories.

Among those Ponies individuals claiming first-place finishes at the meet were: Marshall Davis, 14.99 in the 110-meter hurdles and 39.46 in the 300-meter hurdles; Neil Goff, 49.77 seconds in the 400-meter dash; Taylor Arness, 9 minutes, 46.17 seconds in the 3200-meter dash; Nate Ricci, 22 feet in the long jump; Brett Ylonen, 12-0 in the pole vault and Nate Bird, 140-6 in the discus.
Next up for the Stillwater boys track and field team is a trip to Eagan for the True Team sectional meet on May 10 at 3:30 p.m.
