Saving Pumpkins: FarmScare Opening Night Delayed to Prepare for Early-Season Freeze

Leslie Axdahl said the haunted trail's opening weekend has to be put off a week so staff can pick pumpkins before the freeze.

FarmScare, Axdahl’s Haunted Trail and Maze, will not be open this weekend due to the impending early-season freeze.

FarmScare will open next weekend, and haunt those who walk the trail through October.

By day, the action at Axdahl’s is family-friendly and centers around Spookley the Square Pumpkin.

There are hayrides, pick your own pumpkin patch, animals to feed and pet—two miniature horses, a pot belly pig, two dwarf goats and a Nubian goat.

Spookley the Square Pumpkin plays in Silo Theatre (scary movies playing during the haunt), and a corn maze (not scary during the day, but haunted at night!).

But at dusk, Axdahl’s transforms into FarmScare.
