A sly fox in the area of Salem Lutheran Church and School has been avoiding police for a few days now.
On Wednesday morning, Salem Church and School reported a fox that was sitting near the north parking lot behind the little red school.
When police arrived, the fox took off.

The next day police were called back to the school on a report that the fox had returned for a visit—“trying to get educated.”
When police arrived, the fox was gone. About 40 minutes later, police were called to the 1300 block of First Street on the report of a “wounded fox” looking for food.

Again, police were unable to catch the fox.
Today, school officials at Oak Park Heights Elementary reported the fox was back.
