UPDATED: Smalley's Caribbean Barbeque to be Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in April

A couple of months back Smalley's Caribbean Barbeque got a visit from the Food Network's Guy Fieri and the crew of Triple-D.

The Food Network Show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, hit up Smalley's in downtown Stillwater, wrapping up the shoot just before the start of the weekend's dinner rush.

Diners, Drive-ins & Dives have since told Smalley's that the episode will be airing the last part of April.

From what I've heard from several residents who were at the shoot enjoying wings and jerk tacos today, it's going to be one of the longest segments they've done on the show.

"It was a lot of fun," Co-owner and Chef Shawn Smalley said days after the taping. "It was a lot of work preparing, but Guy and his crew were a good time."

Triple-D chose to visit Smalley's after they heard great things about the restaurant from other chefs and restaurateurs in the Twin Cities.

Fieri and his crew said this was one of the most fun shoots they've ever done, said Ted Kozlowski.

Rumor has it, one of the items Fieri dug into was the hot pepper wings--and they left him drinking bleu cheese dressing out of the bowl for relief.

(It hasn't been confirmed, but I've also heard some of his crew headed for the snow to cool down.)

I wonder if a shot of Kill Devil would have helped that out?

When asked just how hot those wings are, Smalley conceeded: "They're hot."

Smalley said it was an honor to do the show, and is excited about the exposure it is sure to bring to downtown Stillwater.
