As the calendar turned to September, Stillwater sports squads got in their final competitions before taking a break for the Labor Day weekend.
Girls Soccer
The fourth-ranked Stillwater girls soccer team got back on the winning track by claiming a 6-1 victory at Hastings in the Suburban East Conference opener on Thursday.

Hannah Okerstrom leads the Ponies with four goals thus far, with Katie Holder and Maddie Schaak each contributing two goals apiece through four games as Stillwater closes out the week with a 3-1 record.

Earning its third-straight shutout, the third-ranked Stillwater boys soccer team improved to 4-0 with a 5-0 blanking of Hastings in its first SEC contest.
Since giving up a lone goal in a season-opening 3-1 win over fifth-ranked Wayzata, the Ponies have logged three consecutive shutouts as goalkeeper Ben Wilhelm has stopped 14 of the 15 shots he has faced.
Patrick Roth leads the club with five goals on the year, with Nathan Purdie, Matt Schluesner and Jared Allan scoring twice each; Eli Bjerk and Roma Devine have four and three assists, respectively.
Girls Swimming/Diving
The Stillwater girls swimming and diving team topped visiting Hastings on Thursday by a score of 96-85.
Claiming individual wins in the meet were: Summer Olson (200-yard individual medley, 100-yard breaststroke) and Kaleigh Eason (1-meter diving).
The Ponies quartet of Sophia Bisch, Kylie Burgess, Mady Gockowski and Olson also won the 200-yard freestyle relay.
