After most Stillwater squads take Wednesday off, they returned to action on an ideal Thursday to compete against opponents from both inside and out of the Suburban East Conference.

Boys Soccer

The No. 1-ranked Stillwater boys soccer team remained undefeated with its fourth-straight shutout in a 1-0 win at Mounds View.

Patrick Roth recorded his team-high sixth goal in the victory, with goalkeeper Ben Wilhelm going 6-for-6 in saves to stymie the Mustangs.

Girls Soccer

Ninth-ranked Stillwater tied host Mounds View, 1-1, in girls soccer to bring its record to 3-1-1 on the year. 

Hannah Okerstrom scored her team-high fifth goal of the season against the Mustangs after scoring four times against Hastings last week. Goalie Megan Holthaus made six saves in the deadlock.

Girls Swimming and Diving

The Stillwater girls swimming and diving team defeated Roseville at the Stillwater Junior High pool.

Claiming individual wins for the Ponies were: Claire Rutscher (200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly), Sophia Bisch (200-yard individual medley), Summer Olson (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle), Morgan Espelien (1-meter diving), Caitlin Gastecki (500-yard freestyle) and Maddie Gockowski (100-yard backstroke).

The Stillwater quartet of Jordan Duncan, Hannah Hoefferle, Mary Knaak, Miranda Meier also won the 200-yard medley relay.

Girls Tennis

After shutting out North St. Paul, 7-0, on Wednesday, the Stillwater girls tennis team defeated conference foe East Ridge, 6-1, on Thursday.

Against the Raptors, Natalie Phippen, Jenna Sherrick and Jackie Ellingson won in singles competition, with the doubles teams of Lindsay Burger/Shelby Ahrendt, Aliza Deming/Natalie Cardenas and Shelby Anderson/Hannah Quinn sweeping doubles play.

Volleyball

The Stillwater volleyball team lost at Apple Valley in four games (16-25, 21-25, 25-23, 24-26) on Thursday. Individual statistics were not made available. 

The Ponies return to Apple Valley this weekend for the Aerie Challenge, beginning on Friday night at 6:15 p.m.
