Sports Roundup: Ponies Soccer Squads Sweep Raiders

The Stillwater soccer squads hosted and defeated boys and girls teams from Suburban East Conference rivals Cretin-Derham Hall to close out the second-to-last week of the regular season.

Boys Soccer

A 3-2 defeat of CDH on Thursday improved the third-ranked Stillwater boys soccer team to 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the SEC.

Patrick Roth scored twice for the Ponies, increasing his team-high goal count to 12 this fall.

Stillwater holds a 1 1/2-game lead in the SEC with two games remaining in the regular season, at Roseville on Tuesday and against visiting White Bear Lake on Thursday.

Girls Soccer

Emily Olson scored her first goal of the year, with Leah Nitardy claiming her second tally this fall as the Stillwater girls soccer team defeated CDH 2-1 on Thursday.

The Ponies improved to 7-5-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the SEC with the win, with a Tuesday road game at Roseville and a Thursday home matchup versus White Bear Lake remaining to close out the regular season next week.

Girls Tennis

The Stillwater girls tennis team defeated Cretin-Derham Hall, 6-1, on Thursday to improve to 10-2 in dual matches this autumn. Individual statistcs were not available.

Girls Swimming And Diving

The Stillwater girls swimming and diving team defeated Woodbury, 96-85, on Thursday in a battle of then-undefeated squads in the SEC. Individual statistcs were not available.
