Stillwater boys soccer defeated in weekend tournament by 'Sconnie squad.

The third time was the anti-charm for the Stillwater boys soccer team as the top-ranked Ponies lost for the first time this season in their third game of the year against a team from Wisconsin.

After defeating teams from Hudson and Cedarburg, Wis., the Stillwater boys soccer team fell for the first time this season and for the initial instance against a squad from the dairyland state as Brookfield East (Wis.) topped the Ponies, 1-0, in the title game of the Ponies' weekend tournament on Saturday.

Stillwater still carries the No. 1 ranking in Class AA and holds a 7-1 overall record after topping East Ridge, 2-1, to open this week on Tuesday.
Patrick Roth leads the Ponies with eight goals on the season, with goalkeeper Ben Wilhelm having made 28 saves on the 32 shots he has faced this autumn.

Cross-Country
The Stillwater boys and girls cross-country teams finished first and second, respectively, at the Faribault Invitational last Friday.
Wayde Hall led the Ponies boys squad that had all five scoring runners claim top-10 finishes in its victory.
Hall took second in 15 minutes, 47.7 seconds, followed by Tom Linner in third in 15:59.8, Eric Colvin in sixth in 16:09.1, Tayler Arness in ninth in 16:23.2 and Sean Bjork in 10th in 16:28.0.
Abby Lange paced the Stillwater girls with a second-place individual finish of 15:11.2 at Alexander Park.
Girls Soccer
The Stillwater girls soccer team fell to 3-3-1 on the year after back-to-back losses to Mahtomedi (1-0) and East Ridge (2-1) on Saturday and Thursday, respectively.
Hannah Okerstrom leads the Ponies with five goals this season, followed by Katie Holder with three goals.
Volleyball
With three wins and a ninth-place finish in the Aerie Challenge in Apple Valley over the weekend and a 3-1 defeat of Forest Lake on Tuesday, the Stillwater volleyball team has upped its record to 4-6 on the year.
Savannah Springer leads the Ponies with 67 kills, with Susan Evans' 151 assists and Maddie Brandon's 168 digs also topping the team.
Girls Tennis
The Stillwater girls tennis team shut out Park, 7-0, on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not made available.
