St. Croix River Boat Crash: Missing Boater Identified
The Washington County Sheriff's Office said it has marked the crashed boat as a safety hazard and is to be removed by the owner.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — The missing boater has been found. The man survived the accident, according to the Washington County Sheriff. The boat has been marked and arrangements are being made to remove the boat from the water. The accident is still under investigation.
The missing boater has been identified as Jason Elgersma, a 36-year-old from Minneapolis. The passenger who was identified at the time of the accident is identified as Kristin Erickson, a 35-year-old female from Minneapolis, according to a news release.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office said it has marked the boat as a safety hazard and "is to be removed by the owner in a timely manner." This situation is still under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Original article from Sunday: Authorities in the east Twin Cities metro are looking for a man following a boat crash on the St. Croix River this weekend. On Sunday, April 23 at 2:51 a.m, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single boat accident on the St. Croix River near the city of Bayport. It was determined that one adult male and one adult female were aboard the boat at the time of the accident.
The boat took on water and was partially submerged. The adult female made it to shore and was uninjured, authorities say. At this time, the adult male has not been located, according to a news release.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a search for the adult male both in the water at the accident site and on land. Names of the male and female who were aboard the boat will not be released at this time, police say.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
