Standoff In Washington County Ends Late Thursday

No injuries were reported in the incident.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — One man has been taken into custody following a standoff in the east metro Thursday evening. On Aug. 9 just after 4 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was called to a disturbance call in the 14000 block of 70th Street South in Denmark Township.

While evacuating a residence there, a deputy reported that a shot had been fired. Investigators said one suspect fled the residence to a wooded area.

The suspect was located and negotiations with him began, authorities said. The area of 70th Street South between Neal Avenue South and Odell Avenue South was closed.

Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, county officials announced the suspect had been taken into custody and was being transported to the Washington County Jail.
