Stillwater Baseball: Ponies Are Headed to State

The Stillwater Ponies scored 7 runs in the fifth inning to defeat Mounds View for a second time and claim first place in Section 4AAA.

The Stillwater baseball team again scored the majority of their runs late as they overwhelmed Mounds View in the fifth inning to score seven runs and win by a final of 8-2 in the Section 4AAA championship game.

The Ponies posted consecutive victory over the Mustangs in the double-elimination tournament, also beating Mounds View 3-0 on Saturday. The win clinched the Section championship for Stillwater.

The Ponies now look to do some damage in the State tournament as they continue to produce with well timed hitting and shut down defense. They will play Thursday, June 16 at Midway Stadium in St. Paul.
