Stillwater Legion Bows Out Of District Tourney

The Stillwater American Legion baseball team’s run through the District 3 tournament ended Saturday at Alimagnet Park in Burnsville.

Stillwater fell to East Ridge 15-11 in the runner-up bracket, two wins shy of earning a state berth in the double-elimination tournament.

East Ridge lost its next game to Lakeville North 9-4, ensuring Lakeville North a trip to state.

Stillwater opened up the district tournament as the third seed and topped Woodbury Blue 10-0 in the first round. Stillwater topped Forest Lake 6-2 before falling to eventual champion Eastview 9-2 in the semifinals on Friday. That set up a matchup with East Ridge on Saturday.

Burnsville earned the district’s third and final state berth with a 16-6 win over Eagan on Saturday.
