Stillwater Police Blotter: Drunken Fighting, On Foot Chase Ends With a Taser
The Stillwater police blotter from Aug. 5 to 8 also includes reports of theft, fighting and fleeing police.
The following police blotter is compiled from Stillwater police reports and subsequent interviews with Sgt. Jeff Stender, a spokesperson for the Stillwater Police Department.
Friday, Aug. 5
- A woman on the 3000 block of Marine Circle in Stillwater received a suspicious phone call from an individual stating they were from the Stillwater Police Department. The caller gave a false badge number and requested personal information from the woman. The woman ended the call and reported it to police. The call was traced back to a number in Jamaica, according to Stillwater police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeff Stender.
- An individual reported that tools were taken from their attached garage sometime in the last three to four months in the 160 block of Orleans Street West.
- A 16-year-old girl was cited for cell phone usage while driving. The girl allegedly failed to yield and was involved in an accident at the intersection of Pine and Third streets.

- A 24-year-old man was arrested for fleeing a police officer, first degree burglary, trespassing and domestic assault. The man allegedly broke into a home on the 2500 block of Bayberry Avenue, began assaulting the victim and then ran off when officers arrived on scene. He was apprehended after officers used a Taser, Stender said.
- An individual in the 100 block of Lakeside Drive reported 100 cans of beer in a cooler were taken out of his boat sometime between July 31 and Aug. 6, Stender said. There are no suspects at this time.
- Officers responded to an assault call in the 100 block of Main Street at 3 a.m. Two men were involved in a physical altercation. One man fled the scene and hid from officers. He was apprehended shortly thereafter. Both men had injuries. One man, who was extremely intoxicated, was released to a responsible party, Stender said.
Sunday, Aug. 7
- A 29-year old Stillwater Township man reportedly walked off without paying his tab at a business in the 300 block of South Main Street. The man was found sitting outside the business when officers arrived. The man agreed to pay his tab of $17.60, but officers had to assist him in paying his bill as he was extremely intoxicated, according to Stender. A preliminary breath test was taken and the man’s alcohol level was at a .301. The man was then taken to Dakota County detox.
