Stillwater Police: Man Shoots Himself in Leg During Domestic

A 30-year-old man reportedly shot himself in the leg in the midst of a domestic situation Thursday in the 1600 block of Greeley Street. A witness told police the man shot himself "because he was probably upset and on drugs at the time."

Stillwater police responded to a report of a domestic situation last night at an apartment in the 1600 block of Greeley Street after a 30-year-old West St. Paul man reportedly shot himself in the leg.

Following a physical domestic situation at about 8 p.m., a 25-year-old Stillwater woman reportedly locked herself in the bathroom of her apartment, when her boyfriend, TR Weyh, apparently pulled out a handgun and β€œthen proceeded to fire the gun twice into his own leg while sitting on the couch,” a police report states.

Weyh then reportedly called a friend come pick him up and drive him to his home, where police located him and the gun he shot himself with.

When asked why Weyh would shoot himself, his friend told police, he believes Weyh shot himself β€œjust because he was probably upset and on drugs at the time.”

According to police, the Stillwater woman was uncooperative in the investigation, and was transported to Regions Hospital for evaluation of possible drug and alcohol use. Weyh was also transported to Regions for treatment of the gunshot wound.

No arrests were made, but the case remains under investigation.
