Stillwater Police: Woman Steals Steaks to Purchase Alcohol

A 45-year-old Minneapolis woman told police she stole a few high-end steaks from Cub Foods, which she planned on selling to a restaurant on Payne Ave. for about $20, so she could purchase alcohol.

A 45-year-old Minneapolis woman told police she stole about $30 worth of high-end steaks from last week so she could sell them to a restaurant for drinking money.

Police were called on April 13 to a report of a shoplifter at Cub Foods.

When police arrived, a loss prevention officers at Cub Foods told the officer that the woman had placed the steaks on top of her purse, proceeded to aisle 7 and slipped them inside. The woman then allegedly left the store without making an attempt to pay for the beef.

The woman admitted to shoplifting and told police she was going to take the stolen steaks to a restaurant on Payne Ave., where she thought she could get at least $20 for the steaks, the report states. The woman said she was then going to use that money to purchase alcohol.

The woman was cited for theft.
