Stillwater Prison Still on Lockdown, According to MN Dept. of Corrections

A lockdown at Stillwater state prison that began last Thursday remained in effect as of 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections website:

"Visiting has been canceled at MCF Stillwater's main facility until further notice.  However, visiting at MCF-Stillwater's minimum security unit is still allowed. Updates will be posted on this site."

The Star Tribune reported last week that authorities would re-evaluate the lockdown this week. 

No specific incident prompted the lockdown, according to an official cited last week by the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The corrections spokesperson also told the newspaper visits would be canceled through the weekend but might resume Monday.
