Stillwater School Executive Threatens Residents With Legal Action

A Stillwater Public School District executive is threatening legal action against local residents.

STILLWATER, MN — A Stillwater Public School District executive is threatening legal action against local residents. In a May 24 letter through an attorney, Kristen Hoheisel, executive director of Finance and Operations for the district, said there could be legal penalties for five district residents she claims are trying to disparage her reputation.

The letter is a response to social media posts and information requests via the Data Practices Act made by the five residents, KSTP reported:

The letter also stated the five people named had "a number of irrelevant and unconnected Data Practices Act requests filed in various school districts throughout the state of Minnesota .... Given the recent events in Stillwater Public Schools, it leaves us no doubt as to a conclusion that these actions are intended to disparage and/or defame our clients with the specific intent to harm their reputations."

The letter had a direct legal message that if the five people continued to do what they had done in the past, it "will be met with immediate legal action."
