Stillwater resident Robert Webber is spending his days traveling around southern France right now.

The Stillwater Gazette reported that it's his first time visiting the area since June 5, 1944, when Allied forces invaded France on D-Day. Webber took part in the invasion with the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment, which executed Operation Dragoon to push the Germans out of southern France.

Webber is celebrating the success of the operation with the families of the French people his unit helped liberate.
