Stillwater's Cannon Nominated For Mr. Lacrosse Award
The Ponies' standout defender bolstered the defense while putting up 26 points on the season
Stillwater defender Carson Cannon was selected as one of seven finalists for the 2011 Minnesota Mr. Lacrosse Award.
The Mr. Lacrosse Award winner will be announced Sunday, June 5 at the Grand Ballroom at River Centre in St. Paul, two days before the state lacrosse tournament kicks off.
In 12 games this season, Cannon collected 10 goals and three assists for Stillwater and was tied for third on the team with 26 points. He also bolstered a defense that allowed 5.75 goals per game this season.

Cannon helped the Ponies to a 7-5 record this season and fifth seed in the Section 4 tournament, which began Tuesday. Stillwater advanced past Anoka with a 17-5 win in the first round of the playoffs and will play a quarterfinal match against Blaine at the National Sports Center on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
