UPDATE: Suspicious Male Reported At Lake Elmo Elementary School

​The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of suspicious activity at Lake Elmo Elementary School.

UPDATE: 2 p.m. – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the party who had contact with the child on the bus stop Friday has stepped forward and been identified.

Authorities say the incident at the bus stop has been cleared, but they are still seeking information on the suspicious male at the elementary school.

Wednesday incident

On March 1 just after 5:30 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of suspicious male at Lake Elmo Elementary School.

Authorities say the male entered the school after hours and approached staff asking for a child by name who was is an after-school care program.

The staff directed this male to speak to administration to get the child released. The male left on foot from the area. This male is not known to staff or the family

This male had no contact with students, according to a news release.

  • Description: White, male, middle age, approximately 5’-10”, with oily un-kept white, shoulder length hair

Friday incident (Now cleared)

On Friday, March 3, just after 9 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a child approached at a bus stop in the area of Marquess Tr., Lake Elmo (about 2.4 miles from Lake Elmo Elementary).

Authorities say the incident at the bus stop has been cleared, but they are still seeking information on the suspicious male at the elementary school.

If someone sees any suspicious activity occurring, they should call 911 immediately.
