Many of us learned that revising our thoughts into positive affirmations and saying them over and over creates a new reality. We hope to attract good health, happiness, prosperity and peace of mind into our current state of being.
Marianne Willimanson wrote in her book The Law of Divine Compensation, "The Law of Attraction has been great for many people who didn’t realize the power of thought. But that’s only the beginning point of a truly empowered life. Your mental power cannot make a flower blossom, or soothe a baby’s cry. Only love can do that.” Williamson’s premise is that to co-create with the Universe, we must focus not just our mental words and imagery, but our spiritual intention as cooperation with the universe.
I believe that in our heart center we hold the powerhouse of connection with our higher source. Neurologically, we have as many neurons in our heart as a lobe in our brain. As these neurons interpret emotions and process our cell supply, this affects every part of our mental processing, emotional well- being and spiritual gifts and abilities. The electromagneticenergy we manufacture through our emotions draws like a magnet more energy of the same type. Thus, if we a think and feel negatively, we attract negativity. If we think and feel positively, we attract positivism. If we are focus on our lack, loss and resentments, we attract more situations that indulge those emotions. If we focus on gratitude and love, the Universe sends us more to be grateful for and more to love.
Recently, in preparation for a hypnosis session with a client, I asked her to think of her “happy place”, a place where she feels happy, safe and content. She sat up straight in her chair, with a big smile on her face and the excitement of an 8 year old girl; she described her grandparents’ farm and all of its elements. I used this imagery as her resource place in her hypnotic journey. After our session was complete, she thanked me for this tool with glee. She will use the hypnotic suggestions to shift her negative thoughts at anytime. When she is challenged with difficulties, she can return to this journey and renew her feeling of well-being.
You may have seen how your own perception once changed, hasshifted your view of reality. Some people are unaware of what they are thinking, let alone feel they can influence their ownthoughts by intentionally changing their focus to a positive phrase, or returning to a happy and loving memory, which in turnaffects the outcome of their perception and experiences.
Some time ago, my dear friend asked the universe for a "download" of a specific spiritual gift before going to sleep. She didn't wake up with what she requested, but in the coming weeks -people, quotes and information came to her that brought it to her. By setting the intention of the Universe to providing her desire, she drew in the energy to support her in receiving it. This suggests to me that as we find ways to manifest changes in our perception, we also manifest spiritual growth and healing by setting our intentions. We unconsciously set intentions all the time. It is when we initially live our lives and let the Universe know consciously our desired outcomes, that we attract abundant divine experiences and resources.
“Every intention sets energy into motion whether you are conscious of it or not.” ~Gary Zuka
Our feelings can be changed by acting our way into them. Often I hear the quotes "Fake it ‘til you make it" or "Act as if." Youcan visualize our "happy place" anywhere at any time. You can change your thoughts by being mindful of what you are thinking; then intentionally work to change them by writing and reading positive affirmations. Very simply, spiritually, write agratitude list each day, set intentions regarding your emotionsand actions; then meditate on creating a clear idea with love. Let it go and so it is.
