Townie Tuesdays: Free Parking in Downtown Stillwater on Sept. 11

The is closed. The traffic congestion is gone.

It’s “Townie Tuesday” in downtown Stillwater.

Townie Tuesdays, , kicks off tonight, Sept. 11, and runs every Tuesday through December.

That means participating downtown merchants will remain open until 8 pm. and offer “Townie Tuesdays Specials” to workers and residents living in zip codes 55082, 55003 and 55042.

The City of Stillwater will offer free parking at downtown lots and city ramp on Sept. 11.

“This is the perfect opportunity for downtown businesses and area consumers to see how pleasant downtown will be once the new bridge is open and the Lift Bridge is converted into a pedestrian and bike path in 2017,” Todd Streeter, executive director, and Townie Tuesdays co-organizer said. “When combined with the Browns Creek Trail and new Lowell Park improvements, I firmly believe downtown Stillwater will experience a renaissance unmatched at any time in its history.”

Participating merchants will display a “Townie Tuesdays” poster promoting downtown activities and events occurring from September through December.
