The investigation began in December 2010 after drug task force agents received information from a confidential informant who told agents he knew where cocaine could be purchased in Bayport.
In a two-month period between Dec. 16, 2010 and Feb. 16, the informant made five controlled purchases of cocaine in various locations in or near Stillwater, the complaint states. During each controlled buy, Funke was allegedly the driver of the vehicle involved in the cocaine transaction.

On May 4, agents executed a search warrant at Funkeβs home when a drug dog alerted officers to a dresser in the master bedroom, where officers recovered some marijuana pipes, the complaint states. The K-9 also alerted officers to an upstairs bathroom where officers found a βsignificantβ amount of cocaine on the bathroom floor.
During the search, officers also found a large amount of cocaine in the freezer and a large amount of marijuana in a bedroom.
Agents then interviewed Gordon, Jr., who told the officers he moved into the house about a month ago, knew Funke didnβt have a job and had no βknown source of income,β the complaint states. Gordon told officers he used the upstairs bathroom, but stated he didnβt know anything about the cocaine officers found on the floor.
If convicted, Funke and Gordon each face a mandatory minimum of four years in prison and a maximum of 40 years imprisonment for the first-degree drug charges. They also face a maximum of 10 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines for the possession of marijuana charge.
