The 2013 VFW/Sport Clips' Help a Hero Campaign was once again a huge success due to the generous donations of our clients. In just one month, over $14,000 was donated at the Stillwater, Cottage Grove, Maplewood, and Blaine Sport Clips locations.
These donations will continue to support the Free Call Days for deployed and hospitalized service members, but beginning this year, Sport Clips' Help A Hero program will also allocate a portion of these funds to provide scholarships to veterans. The VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship" program helps veterans get the education and training they need to begin the next chapter of their lives. Each scholarship will provide up to $5,000 of financial assistance to veterans wishing to further their education during or after military service.
