The winter light will stream through the windows at ArtReach St. Croix’s Galleries during “Reflections, an exhibition of glass art” on view January 10 to February 24. Six glass artists will capture that light with a beautiful variety of artworks.

Bonnie Hinz is a Minneapolis based artist. Her artist statement explains that, “Many of the pieces incorporate metal, also handmade, which enhances and supports the glass. I love the way the two materials work together, the strong, industrial aspect of metal and the fragile quality of glass. My inspiration is often found in the organic lines of nature.”

Lucy Rose Fischer is a Minnesota based artist. Self-described as an upside-down/backwards artist. She creates stories in shimmering colors on glass bowls, vases and plates.

Joseph Krumpelmann, a Stillwater artist, has 12 years of experience doing stained glass. The glasswork is an extension of his explorations in architecture. Harvested glass and glass from found objects that has unique colors and optical effects is almost always incorporated in his work, resulting in unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Lauri Wilson from River Falls, states “Having lived in Western Wisconsin for over thirty years, I have forever had a love affair with the bluffs and fields of the rural landscape. Prairies textured with grasses, fields pinstriped by rows of corn, silhouettes of burly oaks, the bluff line and how it meets the sky....these are things that inspire my work.”

Lucinda Silvis is from Blaine, Minnesota. Silvis enhances her glass work with her work with her own murrini, hand cut sand carving, or cast bronze. She especially enjoys adding little secret surprises, hidden things you don’t notice at first glance.

Craig Campbell is a Minnesota based artist. Craig’s studio, Campbell Art Glass, is a creative hot glass studio specializing in hand blown glass using old world techniques. Each individual design is the result of thirty years in designing or collaboration with clients on his creations.

Meet the artists at a public gallery reception with a wine bar and light refreshments. The reception will be held Friday January 13, from 6PM to 8PM at 224 North 4th Street, Stillwater, MN.
