Washington County Attorney Pete Orput announced Wednesday that Brian Hickson, 33, of Cottage Grove, was sentenced to 105 months in prison for the Oct. 18 1st degree burglary of a residence with a dangerous weapon.

Hickson was the former boyfriend of the victim and was engaging in an escalating pattern of stalking and threatening behavior, according to a news release.

On this occasion, he had taken the lug nuts off one of the wheels of her car and had covered a motion sensor with a glove prior to breaking into the house where the victim was present. Hickson assaulted an occupant of the home with brass knuckles prior to fleeing the residence. Several occupants of the home chased him and held him until police arrived.
