Watch: DWI Suspect Leads Police On Chase Across MN Lake
A man was arrested for DWI and fleeing in a motor vehicle following a police chase that took place on a frozen Minnesota lake.
File this incident in the "only in Minnesota" category. A man reported to police as being highly intoxicated allegedly took off and led authorities on a pursuit across a Minnesota lake.
On Thursday afternoon, concerned residents reported that an extremely intoxicated person was on Green Lake in Chisago County, Minnesota, with his children.
Deputy Dan Ackerman, who happened to be doing routine patrol on the lake, made contact with the suspect, who outside of his vehicle at the time.

According to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, the driver then made a break for it, jumping into his vehicle (with his kids in the car) and leading the deputy on a chase across the frozen lake.
The driver eventually drove off the lake and stopped his vehicle, but refused to get out of it, according to authorities.

The man was forcibly removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. He was arrested for second degree DWI and fleeing in a motor vehicle.
The kids are safe, according to county officials.
Video of the scene was recorded by someone on the lake at the time.
