Wisconsin Man Dies as a Result of Injuries from Last Weekend's Crash near Prescott

Randy J. Tape, 51, of Prescott, Wis., died overnight at Regions Hospital, according to a hospital spokesperson. He became the third fatality as a result of the head-on collision.

The Wisconsin man involved in a head-on crash Sunday near Prescott has died.

Randy J. Tape, 51, died overnight at Regions Hospital, according to a hospital spokesperson. He had been airlifted to Regions following a fatal crash Sunday afternoon on Wisconsin Highway 35.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the passenger in Tape’s vehicle, Tammy A. Decker, 53, of Hastings, remains in critical condition, but she is stable.

Funeral services for the two Stillwater residents who were killed in the crashβ€”Richard, 72, and Irene, 71, Skareβ€”were held today in Cottage Grove.

The Wisconsin State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.

Traynor told the Piece County Herald that the investigation indicates that Skare’s vehicle crossed over the centerline before colliding with Tape’s car.

β€œThere were no skid marks to indicate Richard Skare had swerved,” the Pierce County Herald reports, β€œand no immediate evidence of him having suffered a medical problem or having been distracted before the crash.”
