Boat Propeller Cuts Twin Cities Kids; 13-Year-Old Was Driving

The incident over Memorial Day weekend left one teen with critical injuries.

Two teens from the Twin Cities metro suffered lacerations in a boating accident while a 13-year-old was driving over Memorial Day weekend. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says the teen was operating a boat on Big Swan Lake May 26 that was pulling people on a tube.

At some point the propeller caused lacerations to two teens, authorities said.

Alexander Pazahanick, 13, of Bloomington, suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to HCMC. Ethan Favour, 16, of St. Louis Park, was driven to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

Law enforcement said driver inexperience was a major factor in the incident. The 13-year-old driver could face charges, reports KARE 11.

A 41-year-old boat owner from Bloomington was cited for allowing illegal operation of a watercraft, according to KMSP.
