Body Of Missing Swimmer Found In Lake Minnetonka
The swimmer — who jumped into the water to save someone else — was missing since Thursday.
LAKE MINNETONKA, MN — Deputies from Hennepin County's Water Patrol Monday recovered a body from Lake Minnetonka believed to be that of a swimmer missing since Thursday. While searching the Lower Lake of Lake Minnetonka, the body was located in approximately 55 feet of water.
Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to a report of someone missing in Lake Minnetonka's Lower Lake. Nine people were on pontoon boat. One woman entered the water and began to struggle, according to a news release.
Three passengers — a man and two women — jumped into the water to rescue her. All three women made it back aboard the boat safely, but the man went missing, and water patrol deputies began searching the area with sonar.
