Learning Becomes Electric at SLP's Pavek Museum
The students in the "From Magnets to Megahertz" class are learning principles of math and physics usually taught at a high school level.
The students in the "From Magnets to Megahertz" class, offered twice yearly at the , are in rarified air, as these mostly 12-13 year-olds learn principles of math and physics usually taught at a high school level.
For several Saturday mornings, these young minds learn the basics, from winding magnets and making telegraph keys; to understanding Ohm's Law and basic electrical calculations; to gaining a working knowledge of radio theory and construction.
At the end of this particular three-hour class, there was a moan when parents arrived.

"Why do we have to stop?" a student said.
"We don't have anything better to do," another added.
